CHETWYND -- Chetwynd is receiving a $200,000 grant to renovate the downtown area.
Northern Development has announced they have approved funding for six major projects in central and northern BC.
Chetwynd will be using the grant for its Downtown Revitalization project. It will go towards upgrading sidewalks and crosswalks, creating bike lanes, improving street furniture and installing new LED lighting.
Another grant of $160,000 will go toward renovating the Pine Valley Exhibition Park rodeo arena in Chetwynd. Funds will be used to restore the riding surfaces, fences, panels, and gates.
Other grants totalling nearly a million dollars will go towards projects in Houston, Klemtu, McBride and Williams Lake.
