TAYLOR, BC -- The District of Taylor held an all-candidates forum Tuesday evening.

Candidates for the mayor and four councillor positions were all in attendance. Mayoral hopefuls Peggy Alexander and Brent Taillefer sat on the panel alongside council candidates Gordon Davies, Murray Giesbrecht, Desirae Graziano, Betty Ponto, and Michelle Turnbull.

Questions for the panel included whether they would fight to re-open the Taylor clinic. All said yes, with several saying they intend on lobbying the provincial government and Northern Health for more support.

All the candidates also said they support maintaining and improving the Taylor pool. This comes as the North Peace pool replacement project is underway.

Other issues up for discussion included economic development, seniors’ housing, and reliable transit to Fort St. John.
