The Historic Buckinghorse River Lodge will carry on operating with new owners.

The beloved business on Mile 175 of the Alaska Highway announced last month that it will be closing its doors. The Shannon family, who has owned the lodge for the past 23 years, stated they could not continue to run it due to financial issues.

Now, the family has stated they’ve found a buyer for the business. The new owners have told the Shannons that they plan to continue operating the lodge as is.

The lodge will still close September 17th as planned, and the new owners will take possession on September 30th.

The family previously planned to auction off the land and equipment. That auction has now been cancelled.
