FORT NELSON -- The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) are looking for witnesses after a fatal collision in Fort Nelson.

The BCHP says a pedestrian was killed following a crash that happened during the overnight hours of August 11^th, 2024, along Highway 97 near Dawson Way.

Police are releasing very few details into the investigation.

However, Corporal Melissa Jongema says even the smallest piece of information can help bring closure to the family.

“Please download your dashcam even if you don’t think it is relevant. If you are a witness who hasn’t already spoken to police or you have dashcam, please contact BC Highway Patrol in Fort Nelson, said Jongema in a press release.

Those who were in the area between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. who can provide information into the case are being asking to contact BCHP at (250) 774-3883.
