CHETWYND -- An armed standoff in Chetwynd ended peacefully Wednesday evening.
Chetwynd RCMP were called to a home on Wabi Cresent around 6:15pm.
It was reported that an adult man, a resident of the home, was destroying property within the house.
When officers arrived at the scene, police say the man said he had a firearm and threatened to use it.
When all attempts to have the man exit the home were unsuccessful, and with the treats of a firearm, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called for assistance.
The man was removed from the residence without further incident and uninjured.
The suspect remains in police custody and could face multiple charges. The investigation is ongoing.
