FORT ST. JOHN -- Fort St John RCMP were called to a business in Fort St. John for a report of a disturbance.

Mounties say an adult woman wouldn’t leave the business after being asked to wear a mask, as per the Provincial Health Order. After speaking to police, the woman left without further incident.

Three days later, Fort St John RCMP were called to Shoppers Drug Mart for a report of a disturbance.

Police say the same woman once again refused to wear a mask and wouldn’t leave the store when asked.

Officers then asked the woman to put on a mask. When she refused to do so, police asked the woman to voluntarily leave the store. Mounties say she refused to go and continued to argue loudly with staff, causing a disturbance.

Police arrested the woman for mischief. She was released from custody and is expected to appear in court on Thursday, November 18.

She is on conditions to not enter Shoppers Drug Mart in Fort St John.

Fort St. John RCMP are reminding the public that face masks are mandatory in all public places.
