FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. -- The Peace Country Female Hockey League won't take to the ice for the 2021/2022 season

11 of the league's teams are based in Alberta, with 2 in British Columbia, including the North Peace Eagles. The Eagles are based in Fort St. John and play out of the North Peace Arena.

Wednesdays are normally a practice night for the team. With some quick thinking, those ice times have turned into open scrimmages for any female over the age of 18 to participate in.

Marissa Jordan, Eagles Player and Team Organizer, says the scrimmages have grown in popularity.

"To make new friends and just have some laughs during a time like this when you just want to get out and get a little exercise and smile, it's been really rewarding."

More information on the Wednesday scrimmages can be found on the North Peace Eagles Facebook page.
