FORT ST. JOHN -- For those who do not know what to do with their leftover Halloween pumpkins, they can bring them to Home Hardware to see the pumpkins drop from the top of a ladder.

In the annual event dubbed “Pumpkin Plunge,” residents are invited to watch the pumpkins drop from up high and make a splat. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 4th.

Residents can also bring their yard waste for disposal. Bins will also be available. They’re accepting leaves, grass clippings, plant trimmings, sod, twigs and branches. They will also be accepting black knot-infected branches or trees but residents should use the separate bin provided. They will not be accepting bags, processed lumber, trees longer than 6 feet or more than 2 inches in diameter, food scraps or dog waste, cement, rocks or dirt.

Firefighters will also be on-site handing out their advent calendars. The proceeds will go towards the Firefighter’s Charitable Society.
