Spirit River RCMP arrest two people after finding stolen property


Spirit River RCMP say two people are facing multiple charges, after speeding away during a traffic stop.

Police later recovered the vehicle in Woking, Alberta stuck in some brush.

 According to investigators, the vehicle appeared to have been stolen from Grande Prairie.

 Police discovered through the investigation several break and enter tools and property connected to recent car break-ins in Beaverlodge, Grande Cache and Grande Prairie.

 Last Tuesday, 42-year-old Geoffrey Huyghebaert of Grande Prairie was arrested at the scene and 36-year-old Nadelle Thoreson of Sexsmith, Alberta was arrested near by sometime later.

 The pair is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5000 as well as possession of break-in instruments. 

 Both suspects are expected to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on August 11th. 

 The investigation is ongoing.
