The streets of Fort St. John will get some colour this weekend during the second annual Colour Me Rotary Run.

The event will kick off this Sunday at 9 am at the Northern Lights College’s Fort St. John campus.

The Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting the event to raise money for the new Rotary Spray Park upgrades.

As participants complete the 5 or 10 kilometre run, they will have colour bombs thrown at them.

Organizers say the event is open to everyone in the community – kids, adults, and seniors.

“It’s a great family event; if you want to do it with your kids, there is a kids dash, if not you can do the 5 or 10K on your own. This comes from a bigger city type fundraiser marathon type race, and so this is our second year being able to do it and really excited by the time everybody is done your covered in all sorts of coloured dust from head to toe and you just so much fun, there’s nothing quite like it in Fort St. John anyways,” said Amy Titley, member of Sunrise Rotary Club.

The event only costs $40 per runner and kids are free.
