Commuters who pass through the intersection of 100th Street and 100th Avenue in Fort St. John will need to find a different route starting today, as city crews begin road repairs.

Maintenance began early Tuesday morning at 6 a.m. when city workers blocked off the intersection to bring in equipment.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes to their destination.

In a release issued yesterday Monday, the city said “there is no estimated time for the intersection to reopen.”

The road will be closed northbound and southbound on 100th Street between 99th Avenue and 101st Avenue.

Commuters travelling eastbound and westbound along 100th Avenue can expect detours at 98th Street and 102nd Street.

The city is also reminding motorist to obey all traffic control signs and personnel.
