Peace Songwriters present 'A Place at the Table' Saturday night

Taylor MacIntyre

Tomorrow is December 1st, so why not get into the Christmas spirit?
The 'Peace Songwriters' are performing their 19th annual 'A Place at the Table' Christmas concert at Dawson Creek's First Baptist Church.
Everyone in the community is welcome to join the group to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
All the singers will be on the stage at the same time, creating a unique blend of beautiful multi-instrument and voice harmonies.
"Well, they can expect some original music from our people, because we are Peace Songwriters, and some traditional." Linda Studley, Member of the Peace Songwriters adds, "And probably a few surprises too! They'll definitely be [a few] different languages being sung. There'll be English; there'll be French; actually there'll be Latin and also Hindi."
Visitors can sip on some delicious hot apple cider and enjoy a variety of festive musical performances, all while contributing to a great cause.
With admission by a cash donation, the concert raises money for the Salvation Army food hampers.
The donation allows the Salvation Army to purchase exactly what they need to meet demands during the Christmas season.
"I have some people say this kicks-off their Christmas season," says Studley. "And I think it's really important through the Christmas season to remember people who may be struggling this time of year and to reach out a hand and this is a way to do it that is really fun for the whole family."
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the concert to begin at 7:00 p.m..
