One man dead, after boat capsizes in Bear Creek river

One man is dead, after two people were travelling down Bear Creek river, when the boat encountered strong rapids and capsized.
Around 2:30 p.m. yesterday (Monday, April 22, 2019) afternoon, Grande Prairie Rural RCMP and emergency services responded to the capsized jet boat, which was located south of Grande Prairie near Highway 668. 
A 45-year-old man was recovered from the river and taken to a local hospital by air ambulance, where is was pronounced dead.
A 42-year-old man was able to swim to shore and call emergency crews. 
The names of the men involved will not be released.
The investigation is on-going and the boat has not yet been recovered.
