North Peace Family SuperPark Facility to officially open this weekend

After months of operating on a 'pay to play' basis, Fort St. John’s first ever indoor inclusive play space is getting set to host their grand opening celebration this weekend.

On Saturday, the North Peace Family SuperPark Society is inviting residents to join them as they officially open for business.

Last summer, the SuperPark faciltiy unveiled their new space after securing enough funding and donations from local businesses and members of the community.

Since that time it has been operating by donation only, up until recently, when a business license was secured late last month.

“We’re so excited to be able to open our doors, so we’ve created the grand opening, pay by donation, were going to have snacks and a beautiful cake designed by Pam Turner, and it’s just going to be a celebration to finally have the first ever indoor place space of its kind in our community,” Said Jaandi Roemer with the North Peace SuperPark Society.

The celebration will kick off at 11 am.

There will be snacks and donations will be accepted as well.

The non-profit society says it’s important they thank all the local businesses and community members who have made the SuperPark a reality.

“And say hey, this is where your money went and to actually see it in action and see the families and the kids’ faces and know that that money they gave us really went to a genuinely good place and that we are using it responsibly and that it’s being enjoyed by the whole community. So it will be really exciting to see their faces, when they see the children’s faces of what they did for the community,” said Roemer

Moving forward, the SuperPark will now be open every week from Monday to Saturday.
