This weekend, sharp shooters in the Peace Region will draw their bows back for a cash prize.

On Saturday, the New Totem Archery Club will host its last outdoor event of the season – 3D Redding Spot Cash Shoot in Fort St. John.

Taking place in the Jones subdivision, competitors will go into the woods and shoot their arrows into 25 targets at different ranges.

Organizers say the event is for everyone in the family from children to seniors or novice to experts.

"It's just a great family event; we're going to have a non-competitive division, so if people just want to come out and shoot without the pressure of trying to compete against the score, we welcome that as well," said Graham Goertzen.

There's also a raffle cash prize of $3,500 for non-competitors to take home.

Competitors in the tournament will aim to win the cash prize of over $1,800.

Competitors will shoot at targets up to 100 yards away.

"We'll have some that are a lot closer, some that are a little farther and what we've got on this that makes this tournament unique is that we've got marked dots to shoot at on these animals. So depending on how far away it is, the closer they are, the smaller the dots get," said Goertzen.

Registration begins at 8:00 in the morning and the tournament kicks off at 9.
