Milezero Gymnastics Club celebrates opening of new facility

There was a party last night (Wednesday) at the old South Peace United Church.
But, this wasn't a normal party.
The Milezero Gymnastics Club celebrated the opening of their new home at the church with an Open House.
Over the summer, the organization bought the church and began the transformation.
Rec Coordinator and Head Coach April Baldassarre, says the gymnasts needed a larger - and higher space - to practice their routines.
"It's about bringing gymnastics, at a bigger scale, to Dawson Creek. We've been here for three years now; this is our fourth year going in. We're celebrating a bigger space, new programming, more coaches - we have brand new coaches coming in to the house, so everything is brand new and it's all exciting for us."
The club will be offering a variety of new programs, including a ninja program, a parcour program, zumba and their signature gymnastic classes.
Baldassarre says she was ecstatic to see both returning gymnasts, as well as potential new members at the Open House.
"Dawson Creek as a whole, they're very based on community." She adds, "Here at the church, in Milezero Gymnastics, we have our own little community that we've created. We're definitely all about family when it comes to Milezero Gymnastics."
Classes open on Tuesday and it's not too late to register.
