Fort St John RCMP is investigating a two-vehicle collision after a man is flown to a Vancouver hospital with serious injuries.

Police say, on July 19th at 5:15 pm they were called to a two-vehicle collision between a pickup truck and a boom lift, on the Swanson Lumber Road.

When RCMP arrived, they discovered that the boom lift had been rear-ended by the pickup truck. As a result of the collision, the man driving the boom lift was trapped in the basket.

Paramedics and other first responders were already on scene tending to the injured male who was initially unresponsive.

The injured male was rushed to hospital by ambulance then later airlifted to Vancouver for surgery. As of Saturday, RCMP says the male was stable and doing well in recovery.

In a press release from Fort St. John RCMP, the cause of the collision is not yet known, but they suspect distracted driving may have been a factor.
