High School Students Warned of Potentially Predatory Snapchat Accounts

Travis Fortnum

Students at Fort Nelson Secondary School were sent home with a letter to parents on Friday.

The letter warns of a number of accounts on the popular social media app Snapchat that has contacted students and demonstrated predatory behaviour.

In the letter, FNSS Vice Principal Sarah Attrill notes that school staff were notified that a number of students were targeted by the person(s) using multiple usernames.

These usernames include:

firstoraceo (fraceo)
daddywarbucks (dwarbucks96)
noone (swhocares59)

Although the letter does not specify what was sent to the students, it encourages parents to speak with their children about the use of Snapchat as well as internet safety.

The accounts have been reported to the RCMP as well as Safer Schools together.
