A Grande Prairie man faces a slew of charges after a traffic stop.

Police say on Sunday, October 14, a city enforcement officer pulled a car over on 99 Street near Shark Club. The officer called for backup from the RCMP when the suspect he was dealing with became evasive. Police investigated and found out that the man had lied about his identity, and was in a stolen car with a gun.

22-year-old Jesse Kenneth Roberts has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and obstructing a police officer.

He made his first appearance in court last Wednesday.
