A Grande Prairie man faces charges after an alleged armed robbery.

The RCMP say that at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, they were called to a hotel on the west side of Grande Prairie, after a man pointed a gun at the employee and stole some of their personal items. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but left a wallet behind. After comparing security footage to a photo ID found in the wallet, the RCMP were able to identify him as 19-year-old Caiden Mackinnon.

Mackinnon faces numerous charges, including robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
