A teen girl from Grande Prairie is facing charges after being found behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen SUV.

On Sunday, September 16, at around 2:30 a.m, the RCMP were called about an SUV driving erratically in the area of Landing Drive. The SUV ended up crashing on a lawn, where residents took the keys from the driver while waiting for police to arrive.

The RCMP arrived and arrested a 16-year-old girl, and discovered that the SUV had been reported stolen earlier in the week. The teen faces charges of possession of stolen property.

She will appear in court on Monday, September 24.
