Grande Prairie Man Arrested after Fatal Stabbing

31-year-old Trevor Eldon Martineau has been arrested for second-degree murder, following a stabbing in Grande Prairie this weekend.
It happened on Saturday night in the area of 100 Avenue and 92nd Street.
Police were called around 5:00 P.M., when 48-year-old Pierre Quesnel was taken to hospital and Martineau was arrested.
Quesnel later died as a result of his injuries.

Martineau faces additional charges, in addition to the second-degree murder. These include:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Theft under $5000
- Breach of probation order (x2)
He remains in police custody, pending a bail hearing on March 11 at the Grande Prairie Provincial Court.
Quesnel’s daughter says her father was a husband, an uncle and a wonderful man who left his family too soon.
