Fort St. John RCMP are investigating after a flagger was hit by a car following Canada Day fireworks at the Surerus ball diamonds.

Police say that just before midnight on Sunday, July 1, a traffic controller tried to stop a Toyota pickup truck headed north on 86 Street, when she was hit by the truck. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The 30-year-old driver stayed at the scene, and police say he may have been intoxicated. He was taken to the RCMP detachment and provided breath samples.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and they are looking for any witnesses that they haven't spoken with to come forward, and call the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100.
