Fort St. John RCMP find truck submerged in Charlie Lake

Fort St. John RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding the thief of a Ford F-350 they found submerged in Charlie Lake.

Police were called before 8 a.m on Wednesday, September 5, with a report that the truck had been stolen overnight from the area of 101 avenue and 92 street. The RCMP found the truck in Charlie Lake, after it had been driven into the water from the boat launch. Nobody was inside the truck when it was found. A witness says they saw the truck drive into the park around 10:30 p.m the night before.

Police are looking for anyone who has more information on the theft. They say they believe it was stolen between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The RCMP are also reminding residents to take precautions, like removing all keys from their vehicles, taking valuables with them, and locking their doors overnight.
