The City of Fort St. John wants your ideas for how to use a section of Centennial Park next year.

The city's creating what it calls Festival Plaza at the corner of 100 Street and 96 Avenue. They're hoping this space can play host to a number of different events come next summer. In a survey posted to the city's website, residents can have their say on what they'd like to see. Jennifer Decker, manager of economic development, says there are a number of possibilities.

"well certainly we're looking at people that would be interested in doing markets, or musical events. performances of different levels, business opportunities, perhaps, internal staff programming and events that might happen," Decker said.

The survey closes on November 19, when a public meeting will be held to discuss what suggestions were submitted.

"We'll take a couple of options to council on December 10, and hopefully council sees something they like and will give us the go-ahead to move forward," said Decker."Then we'll get into the design and build of the project for 2019."
