Fort St. John city council agreed to let staff meet with with the soccer club about the state of the soccer fields in Surerus Park.
Club President Darren Snider wrote a letter in frusturation to council about the numerous issues with the field.
The city has plans to upgrade the field in 2 years time as part of its 5-year capital plan.
Mayor Lori Ackerman says the city is fortunate to have capital projects in their plan, unlike other communities in the province.
"In a situation like this, you talk about our parks need to be redone. Show me a community that doesn't have parks that don't need to be redone." Ackerman said.
The Mayor also says the City of Fort St. John will continue to take a planned approach on all projects, which includes public consultation.
