According to BC Hydro, a landslide damaged a transmission line into the area on Monday, May 13, causing a power outage.

"At the present time, our preliminary estimate suggests it could be five to seven days before the power is restored," said BC Hydro spokesperson, Dave Conway.

Conway adds that five to seven days is only the initial estimate, and that BC Hydro will continue to monitor the situation.

"Right now, the main concern is finding stable ground for crews to begin repairing the poles," he said.

"If people have concerns, I would encourage them to contact the Peace River Regional District, and they could provide assistance and support."
