BC hydro warns of possible disruptions, as Site C construction continues

Taylor MacIntyre

This afternoon, B.C. Hydro released their latest construction bulletin for Site C.
Contractors for the various project components are continuing construction.
Preparation actvities are ongoing at the 85th avenue industrial lands.
In addition, a marshalling yard will be built in Moberly Lake, to enable transmission line construction.
Throughout this process, local residents can expect an increase in industrial truck traffic on resource and public roads from Chetwynd leading to the dam site on the south bank.
Highway 29 could be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic in some locations.
Often, trucks with heavy or oversized loads will be travelling to the dam site.
Thus, drivers should use caution when meeting  a pilot car and observe all warning signs.
Local residents near the dam site and quarries may be impacted with noise and vibration, as well.
Lastly, for boater and worker safety, boats should stay clear of active in-river work areas along the Peace and Moberly rivers.
These boundaries are clearly marked with signage.
