ASIRT investigate officer-involved shooting in Grande Prairie

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating after a man was shot by an RCMP officer in Grande Prairie.

At 4 a.m in the morning of Tuesday, December 4, Police say they were trying to stop a stolen vehicle. A confrontation broke out between two suspects and officers at the scene, and it resulted in one of the police officers' weapons being fired. One of the suspects has been injured and was taken to hospital. No officers have been hurt.

The RCMP say they will not be commenting further on the incident.
