15 firefighters work to contain grass fire on South Taylor Hill

Taylor MacIntyre

Breaking news out of Taylor.
Earlier this afternoon (Thursday, April 25, 2019), a fire broke out on Pingel Creek Road on the South Taylor Hill.
Fire crews were still on scene late this afternoon, as there was lots of smoke reported - apparently affecting vision and the ability to fight the flames.
CJDC-TV spoke with the CAO for the District of Taylor, Andrew Young: "[The fire] is approximately 300 feet by 300 feet in size and is now fully contained. The fire was started appartently by a local property owner, who was burning some grass and the grass burn got away on him. There are no injuries and there's no impact on highway traffic at this time."
Approximately 15 firefighters were working together to battle the blaze.
