Travis Fortnum

Another candidate has thrown their hat into the federal election ring here in the Peace.

The Liberals have named Mavis Erickson as their candidate in the Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies riding.

Armed with a law degree from Harvard University, Mavis runs a law practice in Prince George.

She also lists experience as twice-elected Chief of the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council on her resume.

Erickson joins incumbent Bob Zimmer (Conservative), Ron Valliant (People's Party of Canada), Catharine Kendal (Green) and Jacob Stokes (Rhinoceros Party of Canada) in the local race.

The NDP have not yet named a candidate for the riding.

They have until September 30.

There will be a local debate on October 10 at the Lido, with the general election set for October 21.
