DAWSON CREEK -- An investigation involving the RCMP North District Major Crime Unit is underway, following a murder in the 600 block of 106th Avenue of Dawson Creek.
Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a suspicious death Thursday. Officers found a 37 year old Indigenous male deceased inside the residence.
Police have been at the residence since Thursday. An investigation trailer has been set up at the scene.
On Friday investigators were canvassing the neighbourhood asking if anyone had footage from security cameras.
CJDC TV News reached out to the North District Major Crime Unit for information. They have not provided any information on the investigation.
A BC RCMP spokesperson said there in no threat to public safety. If anyone has any information or observed suspicious activity near the location, they are being asked to call police.
