CHARLIE LAKE, BC -- A vehicle caught fire Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 29.

A photo appears to show a pickup truck on fire in front of the Chevron gas station. Charlie Lake Fire Department responded at approximately 9am with one engine to extinguish the blaze.

The fire department says nobody was injured. The vehicle was heavily damaged, but no other damage was reported. The fire did not cause any threat to the gas station, or create other hazards.

Firefighters say the vehicle was too heavily damaged to determine the cause of the fire

According to DriveBC, the road is closed but a detour is available. Drivers should watch for traffic control and crews.
