The Dawson Creek Ratepayers say the city hasn't done enough to cut expenditures in its draft budget.

Ratepayers President, Brian Downie says a line by line review uncovered almost $950,000 in potential savings, while also reinstating grants to several community groups.

Downie says council travel and convention costs are also too high, suggesting they could be trimmed by more than $75,000.

He says the ratepayers now have about 130 members, many of whom expects will attend a public meeting on the budget on Tuesday at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre.
