Burning Allowed Again in North Peace
July 1, 2009 - 9:40am.
The Prince George Fire Centre has lifted an open burning ban for areas in and around Fort St. John, and Fort Nelson, but not Dawson Creek. Category two and three fires are now allowed in the north peace, and west of the South Rocky Mountains, but the risk of wildfire is still too great in the Dawson Creek area, so the burning ban remains in place there. For areas where the ban has been lifted, burning is now allowed in BC Parks, all public, and Private land outside of organized areas.
