A 35 year old has been arrested after fleeing police in Dawson Creek this morning.

At around 8:22 a-m, the RCMP saw a Chevrolet Tahoe t-bone a Ford F150 after failing to stop at a red light at the intersection of highway 97 and the Dangerous Goods Route.

Nobody was injured in the crash.

But after officers approached the driver of the Tahoe, he tried to flee the scene on foot.

He then went to another car, and assaulted and removed the driver from the truck and fled the scene. Police then chased the truck down a dead end rural road, and the suspect then left the truck and fled on foot.

Police found him hiding in the grass, and when they tried to arrest him, he fought back. The RCMP say the suspect has minor injuries from the arrest and received medical attention.

The investigation is still ongoing and Dawson Creek RCMP will be submitting a report to the BC Prosecution Service for review.

Anyone who has more information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
