The Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation’s 20th annual clay shoot
The Dawson Creek Sportsman Club will host the 20th annual clay bird shoot tomorrow afternoon with all of the proceeds going towards the Hospital Foundation.
“These funds go towards equipment that our hospital here otherwise can't get, the government only covers so much,” said Alistair McInnis, Manager of Communications with the Hospital Foundation.
Registration starts tomorrow morning at 8:30 and shooting begins at 9. It will cost $20 for those wanting to participate in the trap category, and $40 for the more advanced sections.
“This event is rain or shine,” added McInnis, “I’m optimistic that despite what Mother Nature might bring us, it might bring us challenges, I still think it’s going to be a successful event.”
Along with the clay shooting will be raffles, 50/50 draws, and a concession. One of the grand prizes is a fishing trip for four at Williston Lake.
