Fort St. John RCMP investigating after over 25 vehicles had their tires slashed
It was an unpleasant Mother's Day for some Fort St. John residents who woke up Sunday morning to discover their vehicles had been vandalized.
"I’m really frustrated right, to look down we did, frustrated we walked down the block and see that every vehicle has got flat tires right. Yeah I mean a beautiful weekend and for something like this for no reason right? There is no reason for people to do something like this," says one resident.
Residents at the Pinewood Apartment complex on 86th Street and 89th Avenue say they called police after discovering several tires in their parking lot and along the street had been slashed.
And they weren't the only ones, Fort St. John RCMP say that over 25 vehicles on 86th Street between 85th Avenue and 96th Avenue had their tires slashed overnight.
Residents we spoke with say they are concerned with the amount of damage that was caused and the motive behind the vandalism.
"The police were actually really quick to get here and when they realized how much the damage was there was a lot of police down here and they were going door-to-door and asking for witnesses and documenting everything, so I think the police effort was really good," says another resident.
Anyone with information is asked to call Fort St. John RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
