Peace River North MLA Dan Davies is on the road to recovery

Peace River North MLA Dan Davies is recovering at home after a workplace accident.

Two weeks after the accident at Inland Concrete, Davies received the okay from doctors to leave the Vancouver General Hospital.

While Davies was on spring break from the legislature, he picked up a shift with the company as they were short staffed.

During the shift, he was struck by a loader.

Davies is recovering fairly quickly as doctors anticipated a month-long stay at the hospital.

”This is kind of what surprising everybody, including my doctors, you know, how fast I have recovered from the injuries which, you know, range from a couple cracked ribs and some minor cracks in some vertebras, and some internal injuries - like I said just over two weeks ago to sitting here in my office now,” said Davies.

Davies has started physiotherapy but won’t let his injuries slow him down.

“Here I am - which is always a good thing, back in the office working a couple of hours a day in the constituency office. I had the opportunity to go out and attend some events locally, and that’s kind of the plan over the next few weeks – is just working locally, catching up on stuff here in the riding, doing some community outreach, working with people in the area,” said Davies.

Davies says he plans to catch the last few weeks of sessions at the legislature in mid-May.
