Fuel spill near Liard River closes part of the Alaska Highway
UPDATE: The highway is now open to a single lane, with alternating traffic
The Alaska Highway closed at Mile 839 due to a fuel spill.
BC Spill Response says the incident was caused by a punctured tanker truck, which is sitting 30 metres from the Liard River.
The RCMP and Watson Lake Fire Department were called to scene, and are diverting traffic in both directions.
No detour is available.
