RCMP investigate serious crash on Alaska Highway near South Taylor Hill
The RCMP are investigating after a crash on the Alaska Highway near the South Taylor Hill.
Police say that just after 7 p.m, a southbound Ford Escape crashed into a northbound tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 97 and 230 Road. Corporal Madonna Saunderson says luckily, both drivers survived the crash.
"Tractor trailer driver was not injured," Saunderson said. "The driver of the Ford was injured, taken to hospital, but injuries are not considered life threatening. They're still investigating, looking for causal factors, but they're considering alcohol being a factor in this crash, on the part of the Ford driver."
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours following the crash, but was reportedly reopened after midnight.
