Dawson Creek hospital foundation launches 25 For 25 campaign
This year's Lights For Life Campaign at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation is officially underway.
The hospital is honouring their 25th anniversary with their "25 of 25" campaign.
Staffs are hoping to purchase 25 crucial pieces of equipment that the hospital needs.
One of the main pieces is a huge, deep arjo tub for their medical and surgical ward. The tub costs around $55,000 to install.
Staff say it's the big ticket item on their holiday check list.
"The bathrooms are very, very tiny and you can barely fit a wheel chair in there,” says hospital spokesperson Joelle Adams. “So this bath tub that we're looking at comes with a hydraulic lift so you can get the patients safely into the tub."
Hospital foundation organizers say they're hoping everyone will donate to the cause.
"We’re asking if you're looking for a charity that they want do donate to this year that perhaps they'll think about the hospital because it's an area in the community that affects everybody and especially a big part of the hospital moving forward," says Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation spokesperson Karli Paterson.
