A large fire ripped through a home on 93rd Ave. in Dawson Creek over the long weekend and displaced a family of six.

Dawson Creek Fire Department along with police were sent to the home before 8:30 at night.

Deputy Chief Bob Fulton says the smoke was seen billowing 30 feet into the air, “When we got around the back of the house, it was fully engulfed in flames. The natural gas line burned off and the natural gas was flaring out in all directions and sent flames all the way up through the house.”

No one was injured and a damage estimate is not known. The family are currently living somewhere else as of right now.
