Provincial Liberals name Bernier and Davies as health and education critics
The Provincial Liberals have announced their official critics of the NDP party and two local MLAs have been chosen to play a huge roll.
MLA for Peace River South Mike Bernier will be the new health critic alongside Joan Isaacs.
"I was really honoured to have been appointed official opposition critic for health,” says Bernier.
The job of the critic is to try to criticize the work of the minister in the corresponding file where they are assigned.
The city hospital is one area Bernier says he plans to push the NDP on.
"There were a lot of commitments that the BC Liberals made with myself prior to the election for the Dawson Creek Hospital. One of the big things I’ll be doing is really working hard and pushing the NDP to try to value those commitments," says Bernier.
Liberal interim leader Rich Coleman made the final choice Friday as to who would represent the BC Liberals in each category.
Meanwhile in Fort St. John, MLA Dan Davies will be taking over as the new education critic along with long-time political expert Mary Polak.
