The government of British Columbia has expanded its air quality advisory due to smoke from the wildfires in Alberta.

BC Peace River (North and South), Watson Lake Williston and Muncho Lake Park - Stone Mountain Park join Fort Nelson under the advisory.

Along with Northern Health and the First Nations Health Authority, the province says the listed regions are likely to be impacted by smoke over the next 24 - 48 hours when they will release an updated bulletin.

The bulletin reads in part:

"Wildfire smoke is a natural part of our environment but it is important to be mindful that exposure to smoke may affect your health.

"People with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, infants, children and sensitive individuals are more likely to experience health effects from smoke exposure."

The bulletin advises residents to follow their common sense, monitor their symptoms and reduce exposure.

The full bulletin can be reviewed below.
