Power is now back on in the community of Old Fort, being restored just after midnight this morning.

Residents had been without electricity since the landslide that occurred overnight on sunday, September 30. The ground is still shifting in old fort, and BC Hydro officials say they are consulting with the PRRD, and keeping an eye on the situation.

The district has also arranged water taxis to transport people to and from the community.

The taxis depart from the beach behind 8711 residence in Old Fort in the morning at 7, 8, and 9 a.m, and transport people to the Taylor Boat Launch.

Return rides depart from the Taylor Boat Launch at 4, 5, and 6 p.m.

The district says it is also working on arranging bus transportation from Taylor to Fort St. John, but that is not yet in place.
