Police in Fort St. John Looking for 16-Year-Old Laila Apsassin

Fort St. John RCMP say they are looking for a person they consider to be a 'high-risk' missing youth.

16-year-old Laila Apsassin was reported missing just after 9:30 in the morning on Monday, June 17.

According to an RCMP release, Laila left her home on June 3 and has not yet returned.

Her parents say they have received messages from her on Facebook, but can not confirm they were sent from Laila herself.

Police have not been able to find her, but believe she is still in the Fort St. John area.

Laila is described as:

  • Indigenous female
  • 5’4"
  • 120 lbs
  • Very long, brown hair 
  • Brown eyes 
  • Wears glasses 
  • Tattoo of autumn leaves by left collar bone
  • Silver hoop piercing on top of right ear
