Party in the Parka is back for a third year on Sunday evening.

The free event is a partnership between the City of Fort St. John and Evangel Downtown.

"Three years ago we started talking to the city about doing an event called party in the parka," says Pastor Tony Warriner, with Evangel. "I think it was actually the city's idea."

"We used to do an event called Party in the Park in the summer, so this is our way of engaging the winter city feel and being outside and doing something in the winter."

If you want to check it out, put on your parka and head to the lot beside the chapel, across from the North Peace Cultural Centre.

"We keep moving locations," says Naomi Gallant, Recreational Programmer for the City of Fort St. John. "We've been on the street out front, we've been in the parking lot, this year we're in the green space at the corner of 100th Ave. and 100 Street.

Naomi says there will be lots to do for all ages.

"We're going to have some activities for the kids. There's a little sled hill, there's going to be the big fire and a couple of little fires. there's going to be the tent set up so the dance is going to be inside the tent, which is different this year."

The party starts at 5 and runs until 9 at night.
