Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested a man with the help of some farmers.

On Sunday, September 30, police say they were searching for a vehicle stolen from BC earlier that day. They found the vehicle stuck in a ditch along highway 670 near range roads 40 and 41, where the suspect was getting help from local farmers trying to get it out. When the suspect saw police, he fled the area on foot, but the farmers helped police, one of them driving an officer in his side-by-side to where the suspect was running, and she arrested him.

19-year-old Bradley Almas of Edmonton had several outstanding warrants at the time, and now faces new charges, including possession of property obtained by crime, mischief, and resisting a police officer.

He made his first court appearance on Wednesday, October 3.
