Fort St. John RCMP remind motorists to wear seatbelts after fatal accident

Fort St. John RCMP are investigating a fatal accident near Wonowon.
 
In the evening of Sunday, September 16, at around 8 p.m, Police were called to 109 road, 3 km from the Alaska Highway, north of the community, where a red 2007 Volkswagen Golf had rolled over. The vehicle had 2 occupants at the time, a 41-year-old female driver and a 32-year-old male passenger.

Police say they believe the man was ejected from the car in the crash, and he was declared dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital has since been released. The RCMP are reminding the public to wear seatbelts, as they do save lives in accidents.
 
Police believe alcohol was a factor, but they are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to come forward. Anyone with dash cam video, or who witnessed the vehicle's driving before the accident is asked to call Fort St. John RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
